SWIFT Project Web
SWIFT is an I-z band AO-assisted integral field spectrograph designed and built by the University of Oxford (PI: Niranjan Thatte). It combines high throughput, sensitive deep-depletion CCDs, high order adaptive optics correction, and low sky background to achieve exquisite sensitivity for extragalactic science. SWIFT saw first light on the 5.1 m Hale telescope in October 2008, and is currently fully available to the Palomar community.
