August 11-13, 2008 LGS observing run

Night logs and results

8/12/08 UT
Clear, seeing 0.8" in K. Aligned BTO, laser. Laser power 7.5-7.2 W. Canceled LGS operations at 10pm due to lack of FAA approval for projection. Performed NGS engineering/science remainder of night.

8/13/08 UT
Scattered thin clouds, seeing 0.5" in K. Laser 7.3-6.7 W. Boresighted LLT, measured LGS to be ~1.5" FWHM (TBR). No photometry possible due to clouds. LGS Strehl ~35%. Measured LLT flexure and image quality vs. elevation.

8/14/08 UT
Scattered thick clouds, seeing 0.5" in K. Laser 6.6-7.2 W. Tuned laser to optimize Na return. Achieved 57% K strehl with bright tip/tilt stars. Recorded PSFs in J, H, K. Observed 3 science targets.
