NGWFC Parametric Oscillator for tip/tilt vibration reduction

Project on hold as of Sept 9, 2010

Team

  • Lead: Kevin Tsubota
  • Scientist: Chris Neyman
  • Software: Sudha LaVen
  • Ops Tools: Olivier Martin

Goal

This is a proof of concept identified as a NGAO Detailed Design Risk Reduction task. The goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of a parametric oscillator in reducing a 29hz observatory wide vibration using the existing Keck-2 NGWFC tip/tilt system.
