Notes:
Transients of the Week: |
|
< < | |
> > |
- We got ~35 new Ia's in the past week
- ZTF21abxsngi: redenned (~1mag) and in a bluish galaxy. The host is a 10^9.99 galaxy.
- Outside of that, all archival classifications are now being pushed to Fritz: thanks Joel!

- Mat, Mickael, Valery, Joel and Suhail have been working on getting the final list of spectroscopically confirmed Ia's.
- This information is being stored on the same repo: https://github.com/ZwickyTransientFacility/ztfcosmoidr
- Contact Mat if you don't have access, but want it
- Currently the repo only has the list (3720 names) and the light-curves.
- Coming soon: subtyping, redshifts and spectra.
- Subtyping should be done systematically
- Are we going to re-reduce the spectra? Probably not. First we need to collect everything
- Georgios has a pipeline for the SPRAT and P200 spectra: let's use it!
- This has the potential to be a legacy sample: let's do it right!
- The internal pseudo-deadline to have this done, and submitted is March.
- What projects are we going to do with it:
- A data release paper (M&M); a host paper (Mat); a spectrosocpy paper (Joel); a volume limited paper (M&M);
- early / late paper (Trinity); dipole paper (Melissa); secondary max (?); lensing (Ana?); photometric typing (?); the weirdo's (?)
- Ideas? Start doing it and contact us!
- BTS are also planning a data release for ZTF1: let's sync up.
- The spectroscopy paper is the slow part of this project: hopefully the end of the year?
- What are we doing about i-band? Let's discuss it :).
- We'll also include reclassifications once the BTS group settles on them, so our top list will change.
Valery on AMPEL:
- AMPEL has 4 tiers: where data is input, aggregated, culled/fitted and then output.
- It runs on the real-time data, so will update your analysis for you as new data comes in: cool!
- It'll also push your results to slack / email / a paper
- It's easy to write a new 'channel' that can be put into the pipeline
- Talk to Valery if you want to use it: you should! (Mat's summary can't keep up!).
- You can go all the way to cosmology with AMPEL. Valery's current sample has 830 SNeIa; going all the way to a dipole measurement!
- It also keeps all of the information of what was used at every stage of the analysis: from cuts to python versions.
