  • ZTF21aamokak (SN2021dov): z=0.012
    • Caught early; limited Si; Carbon?
    • Twin of iPTF16abc; reddenned version?
    • Very fast rise
Maxime on: SuperCh SNeIa:
  • ZTF18abhpgje (z=0.13):Has early flux excess! SC SNe Ia with interaction?
    • Is it real? The bump is seen on only one epoch. Can we get ZUDS?
    • Similar to LSQ12gpw. Shows Carbon
    • More than 40 potential SC SNe in the data. Are there more with bumps?!
    • Talk to Georgios when he joins! (note to everyone else: Mat knows Georgios!)

  • Proposal is being pulled together. 4 objects planned. Shout if you want to be involved
  • SN2021J, SN2020nlb, SN2019np, SN2020hvf. Maybe SN2020ftl at higher-z.
  • Will be circulated in a day or so.
  • Spitzer data is available.
  • A discussion with the Chicago group is planned for next week.
Ana on Simulating Lensing:
  • We're looking for lensed SNe, but we don't find very many :).
  • Using simsurvey to look at detection rate.
    • Developed in ZTF. Useful for estimating rates.
    • Combines a survey plan + transient model => outputs light-curve.
  • Simulating over 2 months of ZTF.
    • Low magnified objects are more common, but cannot be seen beyond z=0.5; highly magnified objects can be seen to z=2.0
    • Moving to a new model, which goes beyond a simple "brighten a SNIa"
  • Improving the candidate vetting procedure:
    • SNe are likely to be merged with their host. Need to disentagle them. Use a colour selection.
    • PTF16geu is weird in colour-colour space relative to regular galaxy lenses.
    • Moving to ML for detection
      • Using the NN emulator of Justin+ 2020 (SPECulator) - like prospector but faster!
    • Need galaxy info quickly for the search. Need to look in colour-colour space to rule out AGN.
    • Immediate light-curve fit compared to phot-z is also critical.
      • Legacy Survey can give you photo-z's from WISE+DECAM.
      • ZTF-target should be useful.
      • Much of this information is in AMPEL
      • Have MUSE time by the end of March. Would be great to use it!
