Agenda

• SNIFS observations + existing data
• updates on the reduction pipeline

Minutes

SNIFS data (see Jakob's presentation for a detailed summary)

• SNIFS data extends the ZTF Ia redshift range beyond RCF
• 10 - 12 SNe per night (more in winters) + standards to ~ 19.5 mag
• Operations:
• Ranked list of targets created after ZTF completes the day before (Jakob)
• Visibility, generate fchart/timelord to send to Greg (Suhail)
• Greg prepares and calibrates the telescope
• Monitoring (from Berlin, France, Stockholm) between ~ 8 and 18 CET
• Check for hiccups, focus adjustments

Processing

• Quick reduction on the summit uses the "quick_extract" command
• Ariel: Whats the bottleneck for reduction: Do a quick extraction while observing?

Goals for the data

• i-band sample with well-sampled other (u-band?) data
• "twinning" for cosmology (Kyle Boone)
• H0 dependence on local star-formation rate
Talks of using SNIFS for following up all ZTF SNe Ia
• Download summit reductions?
