- List of items considered for Engineering run in March 2017 is detailed here.
- In the detected non-parafocality of Rc vs. IFU, one commonly quoted misalignment corresponds to 0.1mm difference between the two instruments. The ration focus/secondary position is: 12.5/1. Does the TCS report mm or something else? There instrument has a piece of material which compensates for thermal expansion and pushes the lens to make it parafocal. This material may have worn out and needs replacement, or either be substituted by a motor.
- Plots for difference in focus vs. different registered temperatures is shown in the plots below.
- Rotation of the lenslet array. Verify if the distance between the traces is the same across all the plane. If so, no changes are needed, otherwise, the rotation shall be adjusted in campus as well.
The meeting concluded with an action list:
- 1. Creation a section on the wiki where we collect the part numbers to be ordered. Start ordering parts in January 2017. (Don)
- 2. Buy new shutter and other mechanical components. Replacing those shall be done in house. (?)
- 3. Buy and install a new temperature sensor inside of the instrument. (?)
- 4. Buy a new blocking filter in the blue. (?)
- 5. Provide the action list on how to get the instruments parafocal. The expander lens (same that has the new coating) is the target component to be moved to achieve the parafocality. (Nick)
- 6. Verify if the Hg line is included in the WL solution, and what is the effect of removing it. (Don?)
- 7. Plan the next engineering meeting for early January 2017. (Don)
