PD Phase Functional Requirements
PD Requirements Review Phase II - March 2010
Goals
The NGAO project will finalize the System and Functional requirements over the course of the next week, starting Monday March 1, 2010.
The Systems Engineering team, the three NGAO institutional leads, and those leading the preliminary design of each major NGAO system are requested to meet each afternoon for intensive editing and review of specific sections of the requirements. The pace will be fast and subsystem leads will be expected to undertake a few subsequent hours of 'homework' in resolving TBD's/TBC's not rapidly addressable. Completion of this homework will be requested within 48 hours of each review session.
The goal of these working meetings is a complete set of NGAO requirements that can be released during the week of March 8. At the same time, we will place key error budget and related flowdown spreadsheets under formal version control:
- Wavefront Error Budget Tool v2.0
- High-Contrast Error Budget Tool v2.0
- Flowdown Requirements Spreadsheet v2.0
The Systems Engineering team will prepare subsets of the requirement database for discussion during each session. After these issues are addressed, there may be time for subsystem leads to raise additional issues / questions / or suggestions.
By March 12, changes to the database or controlled budget documents will follow the version control guidelines given in KAON 638, “Keck NGAO Functional Requirements Approval and Change Processes”, by Erik Johansson.
Logistics
Dial-in #: (877) 280-4645 ID: 540030
Because we will be referencing the Contour database extensively, we request that individuals arrange to meet in one location having both phone and on-line computer access to Contour (Keck: Neyman, JPL: Lewis, COO: 1 floating login only, UCSC: 1 floating login only).
Agenda
(Note, discussion of the Interface Requirements will be done with the associated subsystem)
