Test Information
Command |
Description |
moveGrating s |
moves the turret to the secondary grating position (i.e. shim out). |
moveGrating p |
moves the turret to the primary grating position (i.e. shim in). |
moveGrating m |
moves the turret to the imaging mirror position. |
moveGrating nnn |
moves the grating to an absolute position nnn, where nnn must be in the range of -9016 to 0. These are the limits of travel. |
homeShim |
homes the shim. |
homeGrating |
homes the turret. |
exercise_Grating n |
moves the grating through all 6 possible movements n times. |
gratingSP n |
moves the grating between the primary and secondary positions n times. |
> filename & |
Add to the end of any command to record all displayed text to a file titled filename. On the next line use tail -f filename to run commad. |
gratingStatus |
Displays the status of the grating and shim motor controllers. |
abortMove |
Stops the motors. |
initPacsci -p [/dev/ttyq6 or /dev/ttyq7] |
Initializes the motor controllers. ttyq6 is the turret motor and ttyq7 is the shim motor. |
moveShim in |
moves the shim in. |
moveShim out |
moves the shim out. |
Repeatability Data
Data taken with the optical axis of the grating turret parallel wrt gravity (i.e. dewar window east). Grating turret was moved between the primary and secondary grating positions a total of 20 times. Recorded positions are in units of [mm] taken at a time interval of 1[s] per scan. Second data column is the proximity sensor on the grating side and the third data column is the proximity sensor on the imaging mirror side. Test was started at 1:42pm and completed at 3:39pm on August 10, 2009. More details in [Mechanisms Logbook 1 page 81].

Data taken with the optical axis of the grating turret perpendicular wrt gravity. Grating turret was moved between the primary and secondary grating positions a total of 20 times. Recorded positions are in units of [mm] taken at a time interval of 1[s] per scan.
