The First Telecon

I. Organisation items

- We have now an e-mail distribution list, ztfia@lists.astro.caltech.edu - A SNIa section was added to the ZTF mainTWiki, with sub-sections to post documentation on the various ongoing projects, e.g., concerning simulations of surveys, atmosphere, etc. We also added a space for keeping the telecon minutes. - Mickael and Uli will set up a software repository. - Markus will look into 'google hangouts' as a possible tool for these telecons.

II. Simulation studies

- Jakob is working on the simulation code that uses a time-varying model of the atmosphere and allows us to monitor how broad-band photometry, in two or more filters, of a set of stars in the survey fields allows us to reconstruct the wavelength dependent attenuation. Most pieces in place.

- Uli has also the machinery in place to simulate a SNIa survey across the sky. Todo: analyse the outcome and science reach.

III. Other business

- Mickael went observing with PMASS@Calar Alto. It is an IFU that may be an interesting option for ZTF spectroscopic follow-up. One iPTF g~20 mag SNIa was observed. reduction pending.
