Calibration (Mickael):
  • worked a lot on the photometric tools in astrobject: https://github.com/MickaelRigault/astrobject
  • Example notebooks have been improved
  • Can load and analyse collections of images
  • SDSS catalogue is downloaded automatically
  • Catalogues can be filtered for intersection all images
  • Can run sep (Python SExtractor) on images and visualize the distribution of star using Voronoi Tessellation
  • We should use local calibration for the SNe
  • Peter: PTF published SN lightcurves are all locally calibrated
  • Flat fields will improve the calibration but should also go to a crowded field occasionally and dither to test their flatness
  • For the atmosphere we will need two bands (and SEDMachine), should be easy to prepare this for Maryland
  • Marek: more importantly we need to show the astrobject calbration is better until Maryland
  • Stockholm will use astrobject to check this (Uli/Seméli)
  • Peter: for SN subtraction we should look at zoomed out image to 5' x 5'

Can we get a first order correction for Seméli's work (iPTF lcs)?

  • calibrate around SN using PTFIDE stars (IPAC should have this)
  • would need to ask Frank to run PTFIDE on the sorrounding stars
  • Actually only need only to do this for reference image (could at least start with that)
