The work with achieving a final, calibrated SN sample should be continuous. The most critical part is the photometric calibration, followed by the candidate modeling and code used to perform lightcurve fits.

Leading the work towards achieving a final, calibrated SN sample. This should start early, and then continuously identify the limiting factors on the current sample. What are the most immediate tasks (pre-processing, calibration, host-z, extraction)?

Possible tools

  • A way to present an updated view on the current quality of the ZTF SN sample. Separating the contributions from calibration (evaluated eg from stars), extractions (eg through comparing lightcurves with and without host contamination). What SNe are currently lacking host redshifts and where are the host subtractions uncertain.
  • Daily atmospheric solution.
  • SED based flatfielding (through the dome LED lights).
  • Implement the extraction ("scene mode") methods of Paris/Weizmann.
