ZTF status: Past weeks there were some shutter problems leading to poor quality reports. Coverage has focused mostly on Northern ecliptic latitudes.
Papers: There are several papers being written.
1. Eric Bellm leads ‘Early Results’, available at https://www.overleaf.com/15657320hcmpxtdbcctb#/59507480/ . Please provide feedback by this Friday 4/27 COB, and let Dennis know that you’ve read the paper and agree to be a co-author. Alternatively, please add yourself directly as an author to the manuscript.
2. Matthew Graham leads ‘Science objectives’ paper, available at https://www.overleaf.com/15421423zmnzpgggkzhz#/58463416/ . Same policies, please respond by next Friday, 5/4 COB.
3. Frank leads a ZSDS paper
Science subjects:
Streaks/NEO: QZ & Frank have been experimenting with FindStreaks parameters and it looks like the algorithm’s performance has greatly improved. In the past few nights, 3 objects have been discovered. Emily will create a sign up sheet to find who can help with streak work.
Comets & Centaurs: Mike has written a slack app that creates a summary of last night’s ZTF comet observations in the ‘auto reports’ channel on Slack, with links to detailed measurements and reports. Let Mike or Dennis know if you have trouble setting this up. Comet photometry works qualitatively, but absolute values are currently off.
Asteroids: no updates
Telecon frequency: Telecons will be every two weeks. Next telecon is Monday 5/7 1930PM EST.
