      • Requests for what you'd like would be much appreciated: host galaxy images, redshift source info, etc smile
      • We'll also have regular meetings to make sure it runs.

  • The lensing search used to be permissions limited: it queried all streams, but you had to have the right access to get everything
  • Now everything runs through an AMPEL script: Suhail has written a pipeline: anyone can run it
    • It searches for objects detected within the last 30 days, have 6+ detections and are 'real transients'
Line: 47 to 48

    • Maybe this should be a paper as part of DR2.

ZTF Ia Phone-con: 2021-Oct-06

Meeting Agenda:

1. SNe of the week [Joel J]

2. ZTF-DR2 [Mat S]

3. Lensing update [Suhail]

4. AOB / Close

-

Participants (13):

  • Mat S, Mickael R, Giorgios D, Joel J, Ariel G, Benjamin R, Dominique F, Estelle R, Kate M, Martin B, Melissa A, Nicolas R, Suhail D
Notes:
Transients of the Week:
  • ZTF21acdmwae @ z=: SuperChandra caught young
  • ZTF21abyonuw : could also be SuperChandra?
  • Georgios on ZTF21acdmwae: it's bright; not obviously extincted (from the host); there are already 7 spectra; Carbon is measurable at early times
    • Evidence of an early bump, but the epochs are missing from FPbot FP (propitiatory?: let's solve that!). Is also in a TESS field
    • Georgios to lead this
ZTF-DR2:
  • The data release is coming together: the list is now final
  • The light-curves have also been uploaded to the GitHub: Mickael has written a short script to parse them
  • Our main focus is now gathering the spectra:
    • Joel has pulled everything download from TNS
    • For the internal spectra there are permission issues: let's collate a list and ask the various PIs.
    • For classification, the plan is to run SNID in bulk over all objects (with a phase prior)
      • A simple classification metric will then be used to classify the easy (~60%) classifications: these can be scanned quickly
      • The rest will then be split between a small group to work our way through the classifications / sub-typing.
      • Communication is important here: otherwise we'll all be doing the same thing...
      • Requests for what you'd like would be much appreciated: host galaxy images, redshift source info, etc smile
      • We'll also have regular meetings to make sure it runs.
Lensing search through AMPEL:
  • The lensing search used to be permissions limited: it queried all streams, but you had to have the right access to get everything
  • Now everything runs through an AMPEL script: Suhail has written a pipeline: anyone can run it
    • It searches for objects detected within the last 30 days, have 6+ detections and are 'real transients'
    • It uses a SALT2 fit, selecting objects with high x1 / red c; M_B<-19
      • This returns 1/2 candidates a day
      • ZTF21abwqdzi has been pulled out of the query multiple times: it looks like a SNIa @ z=0.1 now.
        • Could be a candidate for more spectroscopy (INT, LT, Gemini?)
    • The pipeline is also being tested with simulations: this is ongoing
    • Maybe this should be a paper as part of DR2.
Closing remarks:
  • Back next week smile
