Notes:
Transients of the Week: |
|
< < | |
> > |
- Good week last week: ~30 Ia's. Lots discovered early: get a spectrum at peak?
- Would be great to have more TNS interaction to get public classifications.
- Hyper-gal is performing great: getting early classifications.
- ZTF21acyroke: classified as Ia; late type brightening; is actually Ic?
- This is followed by a conversation of HD contamination. Are things classified too easily?
|
| Suhail on ZTF Y1: |
|
< < | |
> > |
- The numbers: 761 SNe in Y1 (after removing poor subtractions). 304 with a spec-z (with T-max requirement). Cut bring this down to 204.
- Median z = (all:0.067, specz=0.056); existing lowz=0.03
- The x1 distribution matches existing low-z; the c-distribution is redder
- The mass distribution sees a low mass tail
- Updating the text / order of the paper: should be done by the end of the week
|
| Jakob on Calibration: |
|
< < | |
> > |
- What's the minimum we require to get to a Y1 cosmology release?
- ZTF cosmology release this autumn?
- Need an uncertainty on the current photometry pipeline; not the future one?
- What are the missing pieces? Most can be done in the IPAC sandbox
- Need to understand the quality of the subtractions: inject fakes. Does this still exist?!
- Update the calibration. It's currently biased. There's a pixel dependent offset. Apply the models from Drake et al to the dataset.
- Need to look at i-band photometry. Not currently scrutinised. Apply fringe corrections; recalibrate (Masci et al)
- Need a volunteer!
|
| Mickael of PSF modeling: |
|
< < | |
> > |
- The transient light-curves are off by ~5%
- The correction is also time-dependent!
- This is caused by poor modelling of the PSF
- Update to ZIFF == PIFF for ZTF Running on CC.
- The model works: we're down to a 0.5% scatter! (0.1 in r-band).
- Next up Scene Modelling Photometry!
