Participants (21):

  • Ana S-C, Ariel G, Bastien C, Benjamin R, Estelle R, Fabrice F, Jakob N, Joel J, Julian B, Martin B, Mat S, Mattia B, Maxime D, Melissa A, Mickael R, Nicolas R, Philippe R, Simeon R, Suhail D, Valery B, Young-Lo K

Notes:

Transients of the Week:
  • ZTF21abcxwxi - 91T in passive host. Has LCO photometry; queued for LT.
  • ZTF21abbxdcm - public classification: TDE -> looks like a Ia-91T
  • ZTF21abcpazz - overluminous Ia
  • ZTF21abfaohe - Type I caught early; single detection. Sibling? Likely to be a Ia?
  • ZTF21aabvujk: 02es-like. Got a nebular spectrum. Should prominent Calcium. Could be helium shell.
  • ZTF21aapehpx: Looking for a semi-nebular spectrum if time is available.
SEDm targeting:
  • There is a call for SEDm targeting priorities. Currently the time is dominated by RCF.
  • 80% of the time is spent getting to 18.5. 55% is actually used to get us there; the rest goes to get us fainter.
    • As a result, we actually have very good completeness to 19th (70%?)
  • The remaining time will get split between Caltech and the partnership. This is basically half the partnership.
  • Suggestion was to focus this time (P1 "fillers") towards objects with the best imaging data (i-band + HC).
    • Well received. Introduce a P1.5 priority.
  • Also going to be proposals from the TDE group, the Infant group, Joel (Ia's at max that were typed at max) & lensed SN.
    • 2 pages max. Deadline end of the month. Joel to write the Ia @ max proposal; Ariel, Jesper and Mat to write RCF.
Meeting Review:
  • All went well last week. The next meeting dates are set.
Redshift estimation:
  • Mat missed yesterday's RCF meeting. Sigh.
  • Lots of discussion about duplication of effort: RCF are using simple host-matching and would be interested in incorporating more complicated methods.
  • Redshifts are being entered from galaxy features into Fritz, but is this information correct and reproducible?
    • Jakob: all redshifts from spectra will have to be redetermined before cosmology
  • The Ia group is working a lot on redshifts / host redshifts from SEDm. RCF would obviously like this information
    • Mat: what about non-SEDm redshifts; Jakob: it is impoosible to do this without access to Growth.
    • Ariel: don't forget that all of RCF is public. Need to make sure that we retain information for ourselves.
  • AMPEL is also providing a lot of the machinery that the other two groups are working on. Ideally everything will be implemented in there.
  • In short: someone needs to join the RCF effort. The obvious choice is Mat. Mat to join the RCF phone-cons.
Closing Remarks:
  • Valery next week :).
