Starting up

We call "console" machine to the computer on which the observer runs the vnc window for the instrument (currently WIRC)
The "reduction" machine is the one  which is pulling the images  automatically (currently WIRC2)

Acquisition

a) Log into the console machine as "dbsp", and start the X window (typing "startx")
b) For starting the main vnc (GUIS vnc), click on the icon called "start_dbsp".
c) That will start the vnc window. Inside the vnc window there  is one icon for starting each side. "RED" and "BLUE".
For starting the BLUE side click on the blue icon. That will start first the actual application on the dbsp machine: a blue shell will be opened with messages regarding the application startup ("attempting communication"). It takes normally around 25-35 secs to start up everything (this includes camera initialization, TCS and filter/aperture communication, etc.), the blue GUI will be opened, and the blue shell will dissapear.

For starting the RED side it is exactly the same as described for the blue side, but changing the word "blue" for the word "red" ...
For the convenience of the user, there is also an icon called "BOTH", which start both sides. This is equivalent to make a click on one and then on the other.

d) For starting the Real time displays, there are two icons on the secondary monitor, labeled "blue_display" and "red_display". Just SINGLE click on each of them for starting the correspondent Real Time Display.

Reduction

a) Log onto the reduction machine (WIRC2) as "dbsp"
b) Click on the "RED PULLER" and "BLUE PULLER" icons to startup the correspondent "image puller" aplications.
