SWIFT Project Web

SWIFT is an I-z band AO-assisted integral field spectrograph designed and built by the University of Oxford (PI: Niranjan Thatte). It combines high efficiency, low sky background, sensitive deep-depletion CCDs, and high order AO correction to complement near-infrared diffraction-limited IFS on 8-10m class telescopes. SWIFT is currently deployed behind the 241-actuator PALMAO system, at the Cassegrain focus of the Hale 5.1m telescope.

Partners: University of Oxford, Caltech
