It combines high throughput, sensitive deep-depletion CCDs, high order adaptive optics correction, and low sky background to achieve exquisite sensitivity for extragalactic science. SWIFT saw first light on the 5.1 m Hale telescope in October 2008, and is currently fully available to the Palomar community.
Partners: University of Oxford, Caltech

Please see the *[[http://www-astro.physics.ox.ac.uk/instr/swift/][Oxford SWIFT site]]* for specifications, science case, early results, etc. ---++ Local Documentation * [[http://www.astro.caltech.edu/palomar/200inch/palao/swift/swift_specs.htm][Specifications]] * [[Performance][AO Performance Predictions]] * [[ReviewDocs][Review Documentation (_password protected_)]] * [[Telecons][Caltech-Oxford telecon notes (_password protected_)]] * [[http://www.oir.caltech.edu/twiki_oir/bin/view/Palomar/Palm3000/PalmaoIcd][AO/P3K Interface Control Document]] * [[Photos][Photographs]] * [[Notes][Technical Notes]]

([[WebSearchAdvanced][%MAKETEXT{"advanced search"}%]])
