---+ SWIFT Project Web

SWIFT is an I-z band AO-assisted integral field spectrograph designed and built by the University of Oxford (PI: Niranjan Thatte). It combines high efficiency, low sky background, sensitive deep-depletion CCDs, and high order AO correction to complement near-infrared diffraction-limited IFS on 8-10m class telescopes. SWIFT is currently deployed behind the 241-actuator PALMAO system, at the Cassegrain focus of the Hale 5.1m telescope.
Partners: University of Oxford, Caltech ---++ Latest News * [[Presentations][Palomar Science Meeting slides posted]] 5/7/09 * *SWIFT first light 10/10/08*

SWIFT with light baffles removed

---++ Documentation * [[Presentations][Presentations (Science case, status)]] * [[Performance][Performance Predictions]] * [[SwiftPSR][Pre-ship Review Documentation]] * [[Reviews][Detailed Design Review Documentation]] * [[Telecons][Caltech-Oxford telecon notes]] ---++ Technical Reference * [[http://www.oir.caltech.edu/twiki_oir/bin/view.cgi/Palomar/Reference/PALMAOICD][AO Interface Control Document]] * [[Photos][Photographs]] * [[Notes][Technical Notes]] * [[AOBench][PALAO bench]]

([[WebSearchAdvanced][%MAKETEXT{"advanced search"}%]])
 * Set ALLOWTOPICVIEW = Main.Palm3kGroup * Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = Main.Palm3kGroup * swift_open.png:
