In attendance: Christoph, Reed, Ram, Mahesh, Pravin, Sujit

  • MoU is being looked at this week by the Provost. Shri's threatened to get involved if this isn't resolved.
  • NSF - still no update.
  • Requested PO for DM to go out July 14th.
    • Marcia promised to get it out July 21st. Christoph to keep checking to make sure this goes through.
  • FAA - still waiting to hear back in September.
  • Space Command - Rich and I will have a telecon with the military and laser experts (Starfire) on Wednesday at 9 am.
    • Ram commented that Gary Sanders said that TMT will not have the same issues with FAA and Space Command as every other current observatory on U.S. soil. This probably won't benefit CAMERA in the next three years.
  • Nick has released a draft of the Science Requirements Document (SRD) on the twiki. We will be reviewing this at tomorrow's campus meeting. We'd like to have a working draft by the end of next week when Nick leaves us for Toronto.
  • Reed has taken a first crack at the software schedule. This will be posted shortly on the twiki.
    • Estimating hardware interface and locked AO loops will be finished in the next year, automations to follow.
  • Christoph is finishing up with the current round of P3K work this week. It won't start up again until late September/early October when the DM arrives back at COO.
  • Christoph needs to check the status of and finalize the deal with Pomona and MRI-R^2.
  • Mahesh has had difficulties obtaining a visa. He has requested that Christoph send a letter directly to the consulate to speed up the process. (This was done immediately after the meeting.) We're still aiming to have Mahesh at COO starting July 27th for 2-3 weeks.
  • Discussed possible optical designs in Hillol's absence. We may need to fold up the beam coming directly out of the laser head by a few meters before being sent to the projection optics.
  • Mahesh will check on the cutoff of their H2RG detector that will be used with CAMERA.
    • IUCAA is also developing the electronics and a USB interface for the infrared camera.
  • It appears that Mahesh's twiki account is not working properly. He will contact Rich about resolving the problem.
  • Ram asked about any future upgrades to the WFS electronics. We are currently using SciMeasure electronics with a CameraLink output module. This is a new standard so it is not expected that this will change for at least several years.
  • Christoph has promised to start posting meeting minutes.
