The NGAO project will finalize the System and Functional requirements over the course of the next week, starting Monday March 1, 2010. 

The Systems Engineering team, the three NGAO institutional leads, and those leading the preliminary design of each major NGAO system are requested to meet each afternoon for intensive editing and review of specific sections of the requirements.  The pace will be fast and subsystem leads will be expected to undertake a few subsequent hours of 'homework' in resolving TBD's/TBC's not rapidly addressable.  Completion of this homework will be requested within 48 hours of each review session.

The goal of these working meetings is a complete set of NGAO requirements that can be released during the week of March 8.  At the same time, we will place key interface, error budget and related flowdown spreadsheets under formal version control:

   * System Configuration
      * KAON 550 NGAO System Configurations Spreadsheet Updated 2/19/10 - P. Wizinowich
      * KAON 682 NGAO Master Device List v1.1 - C. Neyman (E. Wetherell revisions)
      * KAON 705 AO-Level Control Loops Updated 2/19/10 - P. Wizinowich
      * KAON 636 OOCD - P. Wizinowich (J. Lyke revisions)
   * Peformance Budgets
      * Wavefront Error Budget Tool v2.0 - R. Dekany
      * High-Contrast Error Budget Tool v2.0 - R. Dekany
      * Performance Flowdown Requirements Spreadsheet v2.0 - R. Dekany
         * Includes transmission, background, non-correctable WFE, NCP tip-tilt, observing efficiency (acquisition, dither, instrument switch), and system uptime budgets
      * KAON 716 NGAO Preliminary Design Wavefront Error Budgets v1.0 - R. Dekany
   * Other budgets
      * KAON 709 Power Consumption and Cabling - C. Neyman (E. Wetherell revisions)
      * Heat dissipation budget
      * Mass budget      
   * Interface Control
      * Pupil Mapping to DM's (Keck Drawing 1410-CM0010 Rev1) - P. Wizinowich
      * ICD's (including DAVINCI ICD v1.2)
   * To be placed into configuration control
      * A definitive version of the optical design file (.ZMX format) - P. Wizinowich (R. Kupke revisions)
      * SolidWorks Model v??

The Systems Engineering team will prepare subsets of the requirement database for discussion during each session.  After these issues are addressed, there may be time for subsystem leads to raise additional issues / questions / or suggestions.
