  • Requirements
    • electrical_requirements_compliance.xls: Requirements Compliance Matrix
      • This spreadsheet has three tabs:
        • The one for Functional Requirements should be the prime focus.
        • The second tab is for new or requested Functional Requirements - things we think are missing.
        • The third tab is System Requirements. These were reviewed, but not in close detail.
      • The compliance column is color coded as follows:
        • green=compliant
        • red=non-compliant
        • yellow=discussion/update required
        • blue=N/A
      • Comments in the compliance column reference sections of the documents and indicate things that require discussion.

      • Please note that given the broad scope of the electronics architecture, it is very difficult to extract all of the relevant requirements from the Contour database.
The team needs to put more effort into verifying that all of the relevant requirements have been identified, determining compliance and identifying areas of deficiency in both the requirements and compliance.

  • Design Documents
    • The version of the documents listed below is frozen as of 15-Jan-10, 17:00 HST.
These are the versions pertinent to the mini-review on 26-Jan-10. After the review, see NewKAONs For the most current version
    • KAON 668: Device Architecture (v2.0) .pdf
      • This document describes the devices that need to be controlled. This document is believed to be complete and accurate.
    • KAON 701: Preliminary Electronics Design (draft v0.1).pdf
      • This will be the PD document for the NGAO electronics.
Each subsystem is broken down and discussed in as much detail as possible.
As this effort relies heavily on the subsystem designs, this document remains a work in progress.
      • The following areas are considered to be >75% complete:
        • AO Hatch
        • Wide-field relay
        • LGS WFS
        • Laser Switchyard
        • Laser Beam Transport
        • Laser BGS
      • Areas of significant deficiency include:
        • Calibration/Simulation subsystem
        • LOWFS
        • NGS WFS
        • IR ADC
        • Laser Units
        • Laser Service Enclosure
        • Control computers
        • RTC
        • Time Infrastructure
        • Science Instruments
        • Cost analysis
        • Risk/mitigation
        • Plans/Schedule for DD phase
      • Areas not addressed specifically are considered 50-75% complete.
    • KAON 682: Master Device List Excel Spreadsheet (v1.1)
      • This document captures all of the known devices requiring control.
There are two tabs, one for motion devices (not part of this review) and one for non-motion devices.
Non-motion devices highlighted in yellow are part of this review.
